The winery Bodega Biniagual is the only winery of Mallorca that will be present at the XVI Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España (Salon of Spain’s Best Wines) that will take place on Thursday, October 29th, 2015, in Madrid. The wine selected for this event is the red Finca Biniagual Gran Verán 2011, which obtained 93 points in the prestigious Spanish Wine Guide Guía Peñín 2016.
The XVI Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España is considered the most important event for the wine business in Spain. Wineries whose wines obtained 93 points or more are invited – this year, there are 185 wineries from all over Spain, and Bodega Biniagual as the only representant from Mallorca and the DO Binissalem. More than 4.200 visitors are expected.
The Finca Biniagual Gran Verán is a red wine elaborated with the autochthonous grape variety Manto Negro (52%) and Syrah. The grapes are picked and selected by hand, and after fermentation, aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
As all of Bodega Biniagual’s wines, the Finca Biniagual Gran Verán is the result of a careful and manual treatment of the vineyards and vines, all of the property of the winery. “For the elaboration of our wines, the optimum grape quality is fundamental, and this, we achieve thanks to the careful work in the vineyard”, say the winemakers José Luís Seguí and Isaías Curiel, who are responsible for Bodega Biniagual’s wines. They are supported by the technical advice by Miquel Ángel Cerdá and Pere Obrador, the owners of Anima Negra winery, who recently announced that they now collaborate with the well-known oenologist Javier Ausás, formerly technical director of Vega Sicilia.
